You can donate almost any vehicle and help support WNKU at the same time. WNKU’s vehicle donation program accepts vehicles such as cars, trucks, boats and motorcycles. Your vehicle will be sold at auction and 80 percent of the revenue generated from the sale, excluding the transport fees, will be donated to WNKU.

What can I donate?
You can donate most vehicles to WNKU, including cars, trucks, boats, motorcycles and recreational vehicles. Your vehicle donation will be sold at auction and a portion of the proceeds of the sale will come to WNKU.
How does the program work?
Please use the online form or call the donation line to donate your vehicle: 1-877-308-2408. After your vehicle information is gathered, a partnering tow company will call you to schedule a pick up. At the time of the pick up, the driver will give you a receipt for taking the vehicle. We ask that you give the driver the keys and your appropriately signed title.
How much revenue does WNKU receive from the donated vehicles?
WNKU garners 80 percent of the revenue generated from the sale of vehicles brought to auction, excluding transport fees.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes. WNKU is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization. All donations to WNKU qualify as a charitable deduction on your federal income tax return. We recommend that you consult your tax adviser with questions about your deduction.
What information do I need to provide in order to donate my vehicle?
The title to the vehicle must be in your name. We will also need some information about where the vehicle is located and the condition of the vehicle. This will assist us in scheduling appropriate towing arrangements.
Do I pay for towing?
No, there is no charge to you for towing.
How long will I have to wait before my vehicle is picked up?
Typically, your vehicle will be picked up in two to four business days. The towing company will contact you in advance to schedule the pick up.
What do you do with the vehicles?
The vehicles are taken to an auction and sold to the highest bidder.
How is the value of my vehicle determined?
The IRS allows you to take a charitable tax deduction on your federal income tax form equal to the amount the vehicle sells for at auction unless it sells for less than $500. If your vehicle sells for less than $500 you may deduct no more than $500. If your vehicle sells for more than $500, you will need to file IRS form 1098C (supplied by our program partners after your vehicle sells) with the IRS to substantiate your deduction. We recommend you consult your tax adviser with specific questions about your deduction.
