Earth Calendar for March 2nd and 3rd

Last week marked the celebration of World Wetlands Day. Wetlands come in many forms and go by many ways. Wetlands are some of the most important resources for migratory birds such as ducks, geese, and sandhill cranes. They also support moose, black bears, lynx and other wildlife. Cranberries and blueberries also grow in bogs in the northern United States. Despite their many benefits, the United States looses about 60,000 acres of wetlands each year. Help preserve and monitor wetlands near you by visiting the EPA's website.
