Gateway Installs its President

Highland Heights, KY – Friday, November 15th is a big day for Gateway Community and Technical College. The northern Kentucky school will be inaugurating its founding president. G. Edward Hughes has been on the job since last December. Prior to that he served as president of Hazard Community College for more than 16 years. WNKU's Jay Hanselman talked to Hughes about Gateway and what it will do for the region.

President Bush heading for Cincinnati Monday

Wahington, DC – President Bush is coming to Cincinnati next week to make his case for war with Iraq.

Bush will give a speech in Cincinnati on Monday in which he is expected to outline the threats posed by Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein and lay out his rationale for military action.

The White House announced the visit today but offered no other details. Several sources said a site for the president's speech hasn't been chosen but that the event will probably be open to the public.

Ad Strategy for Drug Proposal uncertin with month to go

Columbus, OH – Backers of a drug treatment plan on the November ballot say they are still debating their advertising strategy with a month to go.

Ed Orlett, spokesman for the Ohio campaign for new drug policies, won't say for sure of the campaign will purchase t-v advertising.

Orlett says some billboards supporting the plan will appear in Akron, Dayton, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Toledo and Youngstown this week.
