Of all the bands that have re-formed in recent years, Guided by Voices' return in 2010 not only seemed the least surprising; it felt inevitable. After all, frontman Robert Pollard never truly went away. Pollard officially disbanded the group at the end of 2004 following its "final" album, Half Smiles of the Decomposed, and a "farewell" tour. But in the seven years since, the impossibly prolific rocker has released 13 (!) solo recordings.
Cincinnati,OH – Internationally known singer-songwriter Tracy Grammer will perform November 18th in the first Queen City Balladeers special concert of the season. Grammer started her folk career in the 90's with her partner, Dave Carter.Carter's untimely death in 2002 was a shock and very sad for the folk community but Tracy continues to share his work and adds a new dimension of her own.WNKU's Cheri Lawson asked Tracy to share her take on "folk" music and other aspects of her musical career.
Highland Heights, KY – David Garibaldi is known worldwide for his unique 'Rhythm and Hue" stage entertainment.The artist combines music with dance moves as his arms flail with paint transforming a blank canvas into a graffiti style masterpiece.Garibaldi will perform at Bank of Kentucky Center, November 4th . He talked with WNKU's Cheri Lawson about his work and told her he enjoys painting on stage to all kinds of music, especially the Beatles.
"Cincinnati, Ohio" – Folk icon Arlo Guthrie will be kicking off his "Boys Night Out" tour at the Aronoff Center in Cincinnati this Monday. He'll be performing hits and cuts from his repertoire spanning over forty years. WNKU's Matt Kelley caught up with the legend to find out more about the tour and ask a nagging question.
