The Fernald Preserve Visitors Center is a 10,000 square-foot green building that celebrates the rich and varied history of the Fernald site.Information on the site's natural, Native American, settlement and farming, uranium production and environmental clean-up eras as well as the recent ecological restoration and legacy management mission is presented through a series of exhibits. Admission to the Visitors Center is free. The Fernald Community Alliance is asking for volunteers to assist with the clean-up of Paddy's Run Road adjacent to the Fernald Preserve on April 6th. Dress warmly, wear sturdy shoes or boots and bring rain gear, just in case. Volunteers will meet at the Fernald Visitors Center at 8:30 am for a safety briefing, pick up safety gear (gloves, vests and trash bags) and road clean-up assignments.
