The Cincinnati Zoo is using a Beagle to Sniff out Pregnant Polar Bears

A scientist at the Cincinnati Zoo has come up with a unique way to tell if polar bears are pregnant involving a dog named Elvis.Thanks to Dr. Erin Curry , an animal conservation scientist at the Cincinnati Zoo, a beagle is now the one responsible for detecting pregnancy in polar bears  by sniffing out the results.

Tonight is Reggae Night at Tunes & Blooms

We've been at this Tunes & Blooms things for a while now, and this year, we're stretching out a bit.   So, tonight is Reggae Night at the Zoo!  The weather is beautiful, the tulips are in full bloom, and it's going to be another amazing night of music and family fun at the Cincinnati Zoo.

WNKU Welcomes the Return of Tunes & Blooms

Now in its 8th season, Tunes & Blooms has become one of WNKU's favorite annual events.  It occurs every Thursday night in April and features some of the best musical acts our region has to offer playing amongst the tulips of the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden. Each week, the Zoo dispenses with the usual admission fee at 5pm allowing visitors to roam the animal exhibits for free before settling down to enjoy live music from 6p to 8p.  Bring a picnic or choose from the excellent food options available on site.  They even serve local micro-brews at the Zoo.

Tunes & Blooms truly is the place to be Thursday night's in April.  Last week, we set a new attendance record at Tunes & Blooms with The Tillers and Shiny & the Spoon.  Over 4300 people came through the gates of the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Gardens to soak up the beautiful weather and hear some of the best local talent our region has to offer.  Tonight will be no different as we welcome back perennial favorites Jake Speed & the Freddies and The Turkeys for the series finale.
