Studio 89

Mondays at 7:00pm

Studio 89 is a live music series that airs in the spring and fall and features musical acts from around town and around the world performing live on the air and in front of a studio audience. 

Studio 89 takes place in the Digitorium of NKU's Griffin Hall.  The Digitorium is a state of the art facility complete with opera box seating, professional lighting, and a 15' x 25' led video wall.

Admission to Studio 89 is free, but there will be a suggested donation of $5.00 per person.  Seating is limited and reservations will be accepted online the Tuesday before each show.  Cut off will be the following Thursday at noon.  Active WNKU Members receive first priority in the order received.  If, by Thursday at noon seats are not filled by members, non-members will be taken in the order received.  Listeners can become members by making a financial contribution to WNKU online or by calling 859-572-6500.

Kelly Richey Band Kicks off Studio 89

WNKU's long-running live radio show featuring established and emerging musicians from around the world performing in front of a live studio audience, returns to the airwaves on Monday, February 18th.   The show will air live Monday nights at 7:00 pm until the season finale on May 6th.

Steve Poltz set to play the final Studio 89 of 2012

To suggest that Steve Poltz isn’t normal is about as safe a statement as one could make. You would basically require the powers of the Hubble space telescope to locate Steve Poltz from any region of normalcy.  For music fans on both sides of the equator, this is a very good thing.

The Please, Please Me play the next Studio 89

The P l e a s e, P l e a s e  M e is an indie pop trio from Austin, Texas with a few tricks up its sleeve.  They'll be performing at the next Studio 89 on Monday, October 29th at 7pm.

Featuring two drummers who left New York City to chase their musical dreams, the Please, Please Me is ”poetry you can dance to.” Frontwoman Jessie Torrisi beckons with her sultry voice one moment and duels with Agustin Frederic on the tom toms the next. The cream in the cookie is cellist Alissa Schram, and her army of sound effects.
