Studio 89

Mondays at 7:00pm

Studio 89 is a live music series that airs in the spring and fall and features musical acts from around town and around the world performing live on the air and in front of a studio audience. 

Studio 89 takes place in the Digitorium of NKU's Griffin Hall.  The Digitorium is a state of the art facility complete with opera box seating, professional lighting, and a 15' x 25' led video wall.

Admission to Studio 89 is free, but there will be a suggested donation of $5.00 per person.  Seating is limited and reservations will be accepted online the Tuesday before each show.  Cut off will be the following Thursday at noon.  Active WNKU Members receive first priority in the order received.  If, by Thursday at noon seats are not filled by members, non-members will be taken in the order received.  Listeners can become members by making a financial contribution to WNKU online or by calling 859-572-6500.

Ernie Hendrickson in Studio 89 on November 4th

Born and raised in the Midwest, Ernie Hendrickson grew up on a steady diet of Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Cat Stevens, and Jerry Garcia. These early heroes opened the gates to the deep well of American roots music which he continues to draw inspiration from. In 2007 he self-produced and released a highly acclaimed solo record, Down the Road, of which the Illinois Entertainer deemed "Groundbreaking" and pushed him straight onto the Midwest's radar as an emerging singer-songwriter.

The Coal Men in Studio 89 on October 21st

The Coal Men, founded in 1999 by guitarist Dave Colemen, have kept a rigorous touring schedule for over a decade. This well-seasoned folk-rock group has released four albums including their most recent, Escalator, which was introduced in August 2013.

Stephen Kellogg in Studio 89 on October 7th

Getting his start in Northampton, MA, Stephen Kellogg is a singer/songwriter and guitarist whose music has been described as country-rock, Americana and folk. He draws inspiration from his fathers' record collection including Jim Croce, Cat Stevens and The Band. Forming the band the Sixers in 2003, Stephen has shared the stage with the likes of George Thorogood, David Crosby, O.A.R. and even the late great James Brown.

Tim Easton in Studio 89 on September 30th

Tim Easton is a Nashville, Tennessee-based American guitarist and singer-songwriter playing rock & roll, blues and folk. Raised in Akron, Ohio, Easton traveled abroad for some time stopping in London, Paris, Spain, Italy, Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, and Ireland before returning home to the US and joining the group The Haynes Boys.

Enter The Haggis in Studio 89 on September 23rd

Enter the Haggis is a Canadian Indie/Folk Rock world-fusion band based in Toronto, Canada. Comprised of members Brian Buchanan, Craig Downie, Trevor Lewington, Mark Abraham and Bruce McCarthy, ETH has been playing and recording since 1996. Their latest studio album, The Modest Revolution, is the band's tenth album.
