The Dragonfly Foundation Supports Young Cancer Patients

One of this summer’s highlights was Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame Announcer Marty Brenneman having his head shaved for charity.  The event raised thousands of dollars for the Reds Community Fund and also brought attention to a non-profit organization that helps families ,especially children who have cancer . Brenneman wore one of the groups famous t-shirts after the severe haircut and hugged three of the children also wearing the shirts who were bald due to chemotherapy .

Metro Unveils Uptown Transit District

Today, Metro unveiled plans for its new, $6.9 million Uptown Transit District. WNKU's Steve Hirschberg talked about the project with Terry  Garcia Crews,  the transit agency's CEO and General Manager. Crews says it will be a vast improvement in service in the University of Cincinnati and hospital areas.

The construction of a Flying J Travel Center along an I-71 interchange southeast of Lebanon is expected to be a catalyst for the development of a 380 acre adjacent area in Turtlecreek Township. Montgomery County Updates Public on Early Voting Procedures

Montgomery County, Ohio has received more than 50,000 applications for absentee ballots.  Thirty seven percent of those ballots have already been mailed in and are sitting in the ballot box. That's what Steve Harsman, Deputy Director of the county's board of elections told WNKU's Steve Hirschberg.
