Well, it's happened again. WNKU's Music Director and Afternoon Music host, John Patrick, met Johnny Law. He fought the law and well, you know how the rest of it goes. At least it's for a good cause this time.
Many laughs were shared when The Elders paid WNKU's John Patrick, a visit last week. The group shared several stories about their annual returns to front-man Ian Byrne's home in Wicklow, Ireland to perform. Byrne and his American counterparts make up the group, The Elders, who greatly enjoy the challenge of describing their unique sound. The Elders have achieved a very unique sound, and an equally difficult task is describing exactly what it is that they play.
Sara Watkins stopped by the WNKU studio with her brother Sean to play a few songs from her new album, Sun Midnight Sun. She is on tour currently in support of her second solo release after 20 years with Nickel Creek. Sara even did some work on John Mayer's new album, Born and Raised, released this May.
Just dug this one out of the vault. Brett Dennen stopped by to visit back in 2007 and Bob the Engineer shot this video. This was back before we got all fancy with jib cameras and what not. Enjoy!
Last week, Riverbend announced that Dave Matthews Band would be returning this summer for a show on May 29th. Dave has long been known to showcase acts by having them open shows for his band. More often than not, the bands he showcases are only known to folks like you, the WNKU fan. This tour is no exception as Dave welcomes along a WNKU favorite, The Carolina Chocolate Drops. Tickets go on sale March 9th.
