Studio 89 welcomes Josh Eagle & Harvest City
Registration is now closed for Studio 89 on Monday, February 27th with Josh Eagle & Harvest City. A lottery will be held to determine attendees, and you will receive an e-mail on Friday only if your name was selected. Please R.S.V.P. to the e-mail as soon as possible. If you do not receive an e-mail, you do not have a reservation. Of course, you can always listen live Monday night at 7pm on 89.7 FM, 105.9 FM, 104.1 FM or online at www.wnku.org.
Local folk rockers, Josh Eagle and Harvest City, are the next group of talented musicians to take the Studio 89 stage.
Josh Eagle and The Harvest City are a community of four. This tight knit folkish/rock band of dreamers & winos consists of Jeremy Smart on lead guitar, Mark Becknell on drums, Tommy Cappel on bass, and Josh singing the songs as well as playing rhythm guitar (with his harmonica always a song or two away). The Southern Ohio natives are the earnest, dutiful craftsmen that are rare to find these days, as all are from varied musical back rounds. In May of 2010, the foursome released, "Show Your Teeth." The album goes from folk sincerity to rock and roll familiarity. Twelve songs that were written from the dirt in the tropics, to the City streets of their Queen City ….. The songs give a taste that dates back to the uncomplicated rock records of the early 1970's - an era by which Eagle's songwriting was largely influenced. Show Your Teeth is a record of tight and breezy ballads, yet raw and intimate rock songs.
As in the past, seating is limited for Studio 89. We begin taking registrations from the general public on the Tuesday before each upcoming session. Registrations will be accepted until noon on the preceding Friday. If we receive more requests than we have seating for, a lottery will be held and winners will be contacted via e-mail.
