Studio 89 welcomes Buxton on February 20th

**2/17/12 - We are no longer accepting reservations for Studio 89 with Buxton on February 20th.  We received more requests for seating than we could accommodate, and a lottery will be conducted to select attendees per policy.  Those selected will be contacted via e-mail this afternoon.**

Remember, Studio 89 is broadcast live each Monday night at 7pm, so you can listen wherever you are on 89.7 FM, 105.9 FM, 104.1 FM, or online at www.wnku.org.

Thanks!

As in the past, seating is limited for Studio 89.  We will begin taking registrations from the general public on the Tuesday before each upcoming session.  Registrations will be accepted until noon on the preceding Friday.  If we receive more requests than we have seating for, a lottery will be held and winners will be contacted via e-mail.

Next up in Studio 89, is Buxton from Houston, Texas.

Buxton’s fusion of lovely harmonies, jarring explosions of energy and meticulously applied instrumentation is led by Sergio Trevino on Vocals/Guitar with Jason Willis on lead Guitar/Mandolin, Chris Wise on Bass Guitar, Justin Terrell on Drums and Austin Sepulvado on Guitar/Vocals. Hayley Barnes often joins the group on keyboard and harmony vocals.  The band, with two self-released albums, is already garnering critical praise with the Houston Press declaring “Simply put, these guys are getting ridiculously good.”

Buxton’s music is a study in contrasts: rock and folk, subtle yet eccentric, lush harmonies over prickly guitar.  The group recently ended an extensive tour including numerous stops on the east coast, a sold out CMJ show, and a run of dates through Texas and California.  The band got right back on the road for a new tour this month.  They play Studio 89 on Monday, February 20th.

Their new album, Nothing Here Seems Strange, was released on January 31st.  Get a glimpse into the band and the new record by watching this mini-documentary, and then watch the video for their song, "Boy of Nine."
