About half of the buildings in Moscow, Ohio are among nearly 100 structures in Southwest Ohio with major damage after this weekend's storms. Clermont County building inspectors say their initial assessment found 47 structures in Moscow have major damage and 54 have minor damage. Homes, businesses and government buildings had roofs blow off and walls crumble, when a tornado rumbled through the village of more than 200 residents Friday night. A Moscow resident was one of three people killed in Southwest Ohio.
Inspectors found 287 damaged structures in Clermont County. They say most need significant repairs. The inspectors say 257 buildings will require permits and inspections to determine if they can be safely reoccupied. No estimate on the cost of the repairs is yet available.
