National Underground Railroad Freedom Center to Hold June-teenth Celebration Tonight

The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center will be hosting a special presentation celebrating “June-teenth”. Spokesman Christopher Miller says the date is significant because on June 19th 1865 the last slaves in the country were finally freed; two years after the emancipation proclamation was signed. Miller talked to WNKU’s matt Kelley about why it’s important to commemorate that day. (get details at www.freedomcenter.org )
