Volunteers are needed to pick up litter, establish community gateways, landscape and paint!
We're helping beautify Cincinnati's current Neighborhood Enhancement Program (NEP) designee: Kennedy Heights. The NEP focuses on developing neighborhood assets, like identifying and "cooling down" crime hot spots; cleaning up streets, sidewalks, and vacant lots; beautifying landscapes, and streetscapes; and engaging property owners and residents to create and sustain a more livable neighborhood. The goal is to improve the quality of life in Kennedy Heights and its surrounding communities.
The event starts with registration at 8:00 a.m. (including bagels and coffee). Registration will take place in the former Kroger parking lot at the corner of Kennedy and Montgomery (6620 Montgomery Rd). From there, volunteers will divide into groups and tackle their assigned project.
The event will wrap up with a late lunch sponsored by yummy burrito joint Currito, at which point volunteers will engage in all kinds of fun and games to celebrate the cleaning up efforts.
If you plan to participate in this event, remember: you'll want to wear clothes that are weather-appropriate and can stand up to a little grit and grime. You are likely to get DIRTY
