FEMA and SBA Helping Kentucky Tornado Victims
The Federal Emergency Management Agency says more than four thousand Kentuckians who suffered in the recent storms and tornadoes have registered with FEMA for assistance. The agency also says it has approved more than $ 7 million for storm survivors in the state's 21-county disaster area. WNKU's Steve Hirschberg talked with FEMA spokeswoman Renee Bafalis and with Small Business Administration spokesman John Oliver Frederick, both of whom visited our studios on Friday. Bafalis says FEMA has opened nine disaster recovery centers in Kentucky.
