Earth Calendar for September 9th and September 10th

  

The 3rd Annual Strut Your Mutts Paws By The River will be held September 14th in the Village of New Richmond, Ohio. Events will start at noon and last until 6:00 p.m. There will be music, contests, games for the kids, exhibits, presentations, pet adoptions, photo opportunities with your pets, food, and a parade at 2:00 p.m.  

  

 This year the BEST SLIPPER CONTEST is back! Encourage kids to bring their funniest animal slippers and wear them during the parade. A big prize awaits the winner!Strut Your Mutts By The River is presented by Tri State CART, a non-profit disaster response team that has been focusing on the care of animals during times of local disaster for 31 counties surrounding Greater Cincinnati. CART is a resource for local emergency management, with services ranging from public service announcements to establishing temporary animal shelters to care for the pets of displaced families. They have also been called upon to assist local animal control officers with animal hoarding situations.  On Our Calendar: This is the best time to look for monarch butterflies as they flutter in droves to their wintering site in Mexico. Participate in crafts and a scavenger hunt while learning about these fascinating animals. Saturday, September 14th, noon – 4:00 pm at Miami Whitewater Forest Visitor Center.
