Earth Calendar for September 6th and September 7th
The Great Outdoor Weekend is a sampling of the best outdoor recreation and nature education activities offered in the region around greater Cincinnati. For the last 10 years countless families have been introduced to their local "natural resources," and this year will be the biggest yet!
This year, over 150 opportunities will be offered for adults and kids alike to engage with the environment around us. Learn about the secret world of birds and butterflies as you take an up close look, or get a little wet taking a creek walk or paddle. You might fly through the tree tops on a zipline adventure or peer through a microscope at the hidden world of pond biology! All programs are FREE and open to the public. It all happens September 28th and September 29th. Great Outdoor Weekend is an initiative of Green Umbrella, a regional sustainability alliance. This year, partnering with MeetMeOutdoors.com, your source for outdoor fun and the Taking Root Campaign, a regional tree planting initiative. More information at the website.
On Our Calendar: Visit Clermont County’s Chilo Lock 34 Visitor Center and Museum. The museum features three levels of interpretive hands-on exhibits focusing on living and working along the Ohio River. September 8th noon – 5:00 pm. More information at the website.
