Earth Calendar October 8th and October 9th

Oct 8, 2012

Volunteers are needed for the Bethel Ohio Asian Longhorned Beetle Tree Planting Pilot Program on Saturday, October 20th.

The Pilot Program has been a great success with almost 300 trees requested and about 50 Bethel residents participating.  For continued success, a large group of hard working volunteers are needed to help with the tree distribution.  There are jobs for all ages and skill levels.  The majority of residents will be picking up their trees themselves, but extra hands are needed to help with delivery and planting.  This is a great opportunity to help your neighbors.  Volunteer Opportunities include helping people check in. Knowledgeable tree people are needed to make sure the right tree gets to the right resident, as well as strong backs to load the cars and trucks and helping insure the trees get planted properly. If you are available please consider giving a little of your time to help with this project to get trees planted in Bethel. October 20th at the Community Christian Church Parking Lot at S. Union Street and Tower Alley in Bethel, Ohio. 8:00 a.m. to noon.  Please RSVP by phone or email so  volunteers can be assigned to the right job based on skills. Call (513) 932-6836, mobile (614) 670-2653 or email More information about the Asian Longhorned Beetle from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources website.
