Earth Calendar for May 6th and May 7th
Saturday, May 11th, 9:00 am-noon: Give Back Day, Garlic Mustard Pull at Caesar Creek Gorge Nature Preserve, Warren County, Ohio.
Join the Cincinnati Wild Flower Preservation Society to clear out the invasive garlic mustard plant, which is easy to recognize and remove. You will be helping preserve the lovely area of Caesar Creek Gorge Nature Preserve, Warren County, Ohio. Bring gloves and enthusiasm and hope for good weather, May 9th, 9:00 am – noon. Caesar Creek Gorge is a wonderful preserve of 461 acres with a variety of spring ephemerals. The gorge walls, rising 180 feet above the river, were formed by glacial meltwater, exposing Ordovician limestone and shale rich in fossils. The preserve contains diverse habitat including floodplain and hillsides heavily wooded with beech, maple, hickory, and oak.
Please note that the location is the Caesar Creek GORGE STATE NATURE PRESERVE and NOT the nearby Caesar Creek STATE PARK. For directions and questions call 513-850-9585.
