Earth Calendar for May 16th and May 17th
Speakers and workshop sessions will look at many ways to approach constructing sustainable communities, both purpose-built and retrofitted, as a way to change the culture. The focus of the conference will be on adapting urban and suburban neighborhoods, using existing buildings, to create places for people to live that place Earth and ecology first by limiting human impact and by honoring the diversity of life and cultures within a community for the benefit of future generations. The conference promotes intentional communities, and many kinds of sustainable communities will be featured in presentations and discussions during the conference, which is also a call for action. The conference organizers hope to instill a sense of urgency and hope, to make attendees ready to act to achieve sustainable, intentional communities in our neighborhoods, cities, and towns.
