Earth Calendar for May 10th and May 11th
Building Value is a nonprofit social enterprise that salvages reusable materials for sale to the public.
Their efforts help the environment, reduce the cost of disposal, and give architectural gems a second life. Their retail outlet is the place to find new, gently used and antique materials for your next project.
A unique, ever-changing selection of merchandise draws an eclectic mix of shoppers. Rehabbers of historic buildings find vintage architectural elements rescued by deconstruction crews, developers and landlords pick up manufacturer's donated overstocks of new items, homeowners shop for deals on good-condition doors, windows, sinks and cabinets and artists want the tiles, fixtures and stained glass.
On May 17th, Building Value will host ReUse-apalooza! 2013. This fourth annual event celebrates Cincinnati, Community and Camaraderie and Environmental Consciousness with an evening of eclectic entertainment, music and fun. Building Value, an enterprise of Easter Seals TriState, provides paid transitional employment to people with disadvantages and disabilities while keeping thousands of tons of material out of the landfill each year. ReUse-apalooza’s location is Building Value, 4040 Spring Grove Ave, Cincinnati.
ReUse-apalooza! 2013 is a zero waste event. Everything at the event is recyclable, reusable or compostable. For more information visit the website.
