Got junk? Here’s your chance to get rid of it, FREE!

On the first Saturday of the month, every month, from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm, you can bring your unwanted appliances, trash, up to 4 vehicle tires (with $5 per tire recycling fee), and other junk to Lincoln Ridge Park, located at 420 Independence Station Rd., Independence, KY 41051. Follow the signs as you enter the park and Public Works staff will take it all off your hands. Please note: Hazardous materials and paint will NOT be accepted. For more information or if you are wondering about something you have, and whether or not it is accepted, call (859) 392-1930.

On Our Calendar: It’s blooming fun for everyone at the Western Wildlife Corridor’s 7th Annual Wildflower Festival, a celebration of spring. Each year, visitors enjoy this event that includes over a dozen environmental organizations offering fun activities and information about plants, greenspace preservation and wildlife. There will be wildflowers, plants and hand-crafted items for sale, and a variety of games, arts and crafts for kids. The participating organizations in this year’s festival include the Cincinnati Zoo, Hamilton County Park District, Ohio River Foundation and Oxbow, Inc. Friday, April 5 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the College of Mount St. Joseph located at 5701 Delhi Road. Admission to the Wildflower Festival is free and all proceeds from the event will benefit the Western Wildlife Corridor, a not-for-profit land trust dedicated to preserving and protecting the Ohio River Corridor from the Mill Creek to the Indiana state line. For more information, visit the website or call (513) 607-2599.
