Earth Calendar for June 9th and June 10th
It’s time to make our lives more livable . . . join the conversation. Join the community. EarthSpirit Rising, a project of Imago Earth Center, is sponsoring a conference on CREATING SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES at Grailville Retreat Center in Loveland, Ohio,July 25th through July 27th.
Early bird registration runs through June 16th, with a special conference price, and accommodations are also available at Grailville.
Four featured speakers, Diana Leafe Christian, author of Creating a Life Together and Finding Community; Peter Block, author of The Abundant Community and The Structure of Belonging; Jim Schenk, co-founder of Enright Ridge Urban Eco-village; and Sr. Marya Grathwohl, OSF, ecology and spirituality teacher and founder of Earth Hope; plus more than a dozen workshop presenters, will offer their ideas on how to create sustainable communities, both purpose-built and retrofitted, as a way to change the culture.
Representatives of intentional communities from around the Midwest will participate and will share their own successes and missteps as they work to make places for people to live that renew a sense of community and emphasize sustainability for the benefit of future generations.
