Earth Calendar for June 3rd and June 4th
Bikes in Bloom 2013 has officially launched! The Greater Milford Events & Arts Council invites business owners, residents and non-profit organizations to join the fun by creating their own garden art project using bicycles, plants and flowers.
There are 43 bikes placed throughout the Milford Miami Township community. Expert judges will be viewing the displays and awards will be given for beauty, originality, and the best use of live materials. The "People" will also be casting ballots for their favorite in the "People’s Choice" award category.
The six week program runs through July 4th. It’s a fun event for the bike planters, and each has a story to tell as the creations are incredible works of garden art. The event draws crowds from all over the tri-state area as well as from across the country.
The bikes are located from Terrace Park on US 50 through Historic Downtown Milford and surrounding neighborhoods. The bike location brochure can be downloaded from the GMEAC’s website. Greater Milford Events Arts Council invites one and all to take a tour of the bike displays. The Little Miami Scenic Bike Trail is a short distance from Historic Downtown Milford.
