Earth Calendar for January 25th and January 26th
The Southwest Ohio Air Quality Agency provides classroom presentations on air quality that are free and designed to meet Ohio Academic Content Standards.
The presentation addresses the two main environmental effects of air pollution: acid rain and smog. Through an interactive PowerPoint, a smog demonstration and pH experiment, the presentation demonstrates how air pollution impacts eco-systems, as well as the students’ community and health. Students also learn about Greater Cincinnati’s progressive approach to air pollution control which dates back to the late 19th century. Presentations are being scheduled for the remainder of this school year. Times are very flexible and can present to multiple classes throughout your school day. The Southwest Ohio Air Quality Agency also works with Crystal Clear Science to provide assembly programs for schools. These high-energy presentations give students the opportunity to participate in a variety of air quality and energy demonstrations. To schedule a presentation, call (513) 946-7754.
