Earth Calendar for February 26th and February 27th
Interested in improving forests in Northern Kentucky? The public is invited to a public forum on Thursday, March 6th from 9:00 am until noon at the Kenton County Cooperative Extension Durr Center.
The forum will include a panel discussion on threats to forest health and assistance available to land owners in Boone, Campbell & Kenton Counties. Representatives from the Conservation Districts, Natural Resources Conservation Service, Kentucky Division of Forestry, Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources, and University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service will be on hand to answer questions and let you know about resources available to help you better manage your forest land. RSVP by March 3rd appreciated but not required to (859) 586-7903 (option 3). The Kenton County Cooperative Extension Steve W. Durr Center is located at 10990 Marshall Road, Covington, KY 41015 at the corner of Route 16 & Marshall Road.
On Our Calendar: Kenton County Monthly Clean-Up at Kenton County Public Works in Lincoln Ridge Park! Got junk? Here’s your chance to get rid of it ~ FREE! That’s right! On March 1st and the first Saturday of every month from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm, you can bring your unwanted appliances, trash, up to 4 vehicle tires (with $5 per tire recycling fee), and other junk to Lincoln Ridge Park, located at 420 Independence Station Rd., Independence, KY 41051. Follow the signs as you enter the park and Public Works staff will take it all off your hands. Please note: Hazardous materials and paint will NOT be accepted.
