Earth Calendar for December 7th and December 8th

Cincinnati Nature Center (CNC) is hosting a series of travel lectures in January as a way to encourage exploration and discovery outdoors in new places.

The program will take place every Sunday in January from 2-3:30 p.m. It is a recurring winter series at CNC that provides speakers with an opportunity to recount their travel experiences, allowing visitors to journey to a new part of the world in the comfort of CNC’s Rowe Woods auditorium.  As part of the series, Laura Schmid, Membership Manager at CNC, will give a lecture with her husband about their thru-hike along the Appalachian Trail. Schmid and her husband hiked the entire length of the trail in 2004, totaling 2,174 miles and spanning from Georgia to Maine. The Winter Travel Lecture Series includes:

“Bhutan: Birding in the Land of the Thunder Dragon” January 6, 2-3:30 PM

“Steppe into Magnolia” January 13, 2-3:30 PM

“Appalachian Trail for Two” January 20, 2-3:30 PM

“Amazon Adventures” January 27, 2-3:30 PM

Admission to each event is free for CNC members and $8 and daily admission rates apply to nonmembers.
