Earth Calendar for December 11th and December 12th
Cincinnati residents can now recycle carton containers like juice, milk, soup, broth, egg substitute and wine cartons, curbside.
After more than 10 months of construction, Rumpke has opened its largest, fastest and most technologically advanced recycling facility. The 100,000 square foot facility has the capability to process 55 tons of recyclables per hour. This state-of-the-art system was designed with the capacity to handle growth as recycling in the region increases as well as to provide the ability to process additional types of materials as new recycling markets become available. Rumpke partnered with the Carton Council on the project. To ensure your cartons are recycled, empty the container. Containers still containing liquid will not be recycled. Remove caps or straws and toss the carton in the recycling container with other acceptable items. To learn more about Rumpke’s recycling process and about items you can recycle, please visit the Rumpke website.
On our Calendar: The German legend of the Christmas Spider recounts the origin of the use of tinsel to decorate Christmas trees. Join the naturalist at Farbach-Werner Nature Preserve for a special visit from a spider guest, and you will make a beautiful spider ornament for your tree. Different crafts will be available for kids and adults. December 18th 10:30 am. More information at the website.
