Earth Calendar for April 5th and April 6th

The Nature Conservancy is celebrating the planet we live on, the food it provides, the people we share it with and remembering that in order for the earth to provide food and water that people and nature need, we have to take care of it.

As an incentive throughout the month of April, the Nature Conservancy invites us to picnic at one or more of any Natural Treasures sites for a chance to win REI gift certificates.  It's simple: Go to www.nature.org, click on Picnic For Earth and select your location.  Use the menu to locate a natural area to visit, have a picnic and chronicle your outing by taking a picture by the designated landmark to share on the website.  From coast to coast, The United States has a rich natural heritage that is within our reach.  When we Picnic For The Earth, we celebrate all that nature has to give.

On Our Calendar:  Spring is in the air!  Grab your wading boots and flashlight and enjoy the sounds of chorusing spring peepers and American toads.  Wade through the shallow waters of the wetland in search of these diminutive, yet noisy amphibians.  Meet at the Chilo Lock 34 Park Visitor Center, April 12th, 8:00 pm.  For more information visit the website or call (513) 732-2977.
