Drug Approved by FDA for Prevention of HIV Infection Discussed by UC Physician
Truvada is a drug newly approved to help prevent HIV infection. In 2004 The Food and Drug Administration approved Truvada as effective for those already infected with HIV.
WNKU’s Cheri Lawson talked with University of Cincinnati’s Dr. Judith Feinberg who says each year about 50 thousand adults and adolescents are diagnosed with HIV infection. Dr . Feinberg discussed the drug Truvada as a preventive.
