Cincy Blues Fest celebrates 20 years
The 20th anniversary edition of the Cincy Blues Fest rolls into the Cincinnati riverfront Friday and Saturday with headliners Webb Wilder and Duke Robillard.
Presented by the Cincy Blues Society, the event is the highlight of the summer for area fans and visitors who annually plan their vacations to attend.
The music will boom from three stages: the Budweiser Main Stage at Sawyer Point, St. Vincent DePaul Local Stage, which features the best of the Tristate’s large number of blues bands, and the stage at the Purple People Bridge. On Friday, that will be the “Next Generation Stage,” featuring the best of the area’s young blues talent. On Saturday, it will be the popular “Boogie Woogie Piano Hall of Fame Stage,” featuring such keyboard virtuosos as Liz Pennock and Ricky Nye, among others
WNKU will be well represented both days. “Crossroad Blues” will broadcast live from the Next Generation Stage from 7- 11 p.m. Friday, and the Friday night blues crew will introduce acts both nights. Stop by the station’s tent to sign up for prizes and giveaways.
