Steve has been a public radio news reporter in the Cincinnati area for three decades. He began with WGUC, then WVXU, and in 2005, came to WNKU. Steve covers breaking news, writes WNKU’s local afternoon newscasts and produces feature-length interviews and other feature stories that are heard each weekday. Steve also serves as WNKU’s News Assignment Editor. Steve has written and produced news stories and features for National Public Radio, the worldwide broadcasts of Voice of America, Ohio Public Radio, and Monitor Radio.

The current issue of the culinary magazine Saveur features a cover story devoted to the world's best donuts. The magazine says one of the 50 best donut shops in the U.S.--and the only one on its list from Ohio--is Bill's Donut Shop in Centerville, south of Dayton. Couple Restores Landmark Hotel in Wilmington

In the  mid 1920's, the city of Wilmington, Ohio decided it wanted and needed a hotel. So a group was formed to finance and build one. The group succeeded in its task. But over the years, the General Denver Hotel deteriorated. Now, thanks to a  husband and wife team, the landmark, Elizabethan-style hotel is being restored and is open for business. WNKU's Steve Hirschberg asked co-owner Molly Dullea how the hotel got its name.

Reds Museum Opens Display of Autographs

Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame and Museum

The Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame and Museum recently opened an exhibition entitled "Signature Reds...a Century of Reds Autographs". Colin Ethier, the museum's special projects coordinator, gave WNKU's Steve Hirschberg a tour of the display. As you enter, you see on your right a wall of autographs that date back to before the 1920's.
