Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources to Host "Becoming an Outdoors Woman" Workshop

Registration for the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources’ “Becoming an Outdoors Woman” workshop in September is now open. Spokesperson Beth Spivey-Minch says it’s a great way for women to learn more about hunting, fishing, boating and other outdoor pastimes.  Ms. Minch talked to WNKU’s Matt Kelley about who can participate and what they’ll experience. Boone County Public Library to Offer "30 Things in 3 Hours" Festival July 27th

The Boone County Public Library is offering a program that will allow people to explore a variety of pass-times and hobbies at the “30 things in 3 Hours” Festival on July 27th. Spokesperson Shaun Davidson says the event will give people a chance to talk to experts, sign up for classes and maybe try something new. Endangered Rhinoceros Calf Conceived by Artificial Insemination is World's First

Ethan, the baby Indian Rincoeros.

The Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden’s Center for Conservation of Endangered Wildlife is celebrating the birth of an Indian Rhinoceros calf conceived through artificial insemination. The baby rhino was born in Alabama. Spokesperson Dr. Monica Stoops explained the partnership with the Montgomery Zoo, and the outcome with WNKU’s Matt Kelley. National Underground Railroad Freedom Center to Host "In the Tradition" for Juneteenth Concert

The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center will be hosting “In the Tradition” to perform an African centered jazz concert on Friday to conclude their Juneteenth celebrations. Spokesman Chris Miller says the Detroit-based ensemble will perform music that captures the spirit of the struggle for freedom.

Near-Drowning Reports Increase as Summer Nears

The official start to summer is just a few weeks away, but with the warm weather, the number of people reporting near-drowning incidents increases. Ohio Department of Health spokesperson Mary Clifton says most cases could’ve been prevented. WNKU’s Matt Kelley asked Ms. Clifton if there have been more occurrences this spring than in past years. "Connecting The Dots" Program Helps Ohio Youths In Foster Care Transition to Adulthood

Indpendent Transportation Network Provides Rides for Seniors and Visually Impaired

People who are visually impaired and those who have a difficult time driving due to their age have a new option to get around.
