Highland Heights, Kentucky – On February 26th, The Cincinnati Art Museum will open an exhibition entitled "The Amazing American Circus Poster". On display will be 80 colorful posters created between 1879 and 1938. They're all from the art museum's own collection. Yesterday, Museum Director Aaron Betsky took WNKU's Steve Hirschberg on a tour of the displays, which are still under construction. Betsky was asked why he decided to make the posters the focus of a special show.
"Cincinnati, Ohio" – Celebrate Adoption Cincinnati will be welcoming author Kevin Hofmann to share his journey as a biracial adoptee in a Caucasian family living in Detroit in the turbulent era of the 60's, next Tuesday night at the Mayerson Jewish Community Center. Cincinnati,OH – A 12 year old Cincinnati girl will be honored with a prestigious award in Washington D.C. this spring for her work helping others.WNKU's Cheri Lawson reports Mariah Reynolds, student at the School for Creative and Performing Arts has been named one of Ohio's top youth volunteers for 2011.
Highland Heights, Kentucky – Starting Thursday in Louisville, The National Symphony Orchestra, which is based in the nation's capital, will be teaching and performing around the state of Kentucky. WNKU's Steve Hirschberg talked about the visit with Lori Meadows, the Executive Director of The Kentucky Arts Council, which is hosting the tour.
" Cincinnati, Ohio" – We're all becoming familiar with the phrase "e-waste", those electronic components in computers, cell phones, batteries and printers among other things. University of Cincinnati Epidemiologist, Doctor Aimin Chen, is conducting a study on e-waste disposal, and says components of the electronic age are adding new toxins to our soil and water, and the effects on humans aren't really known. WNKU's Matt Kelley asked Doctor Chen what happens when people are exposed to these compounds
