Highland Heights, Kentucky – Welcome House in Covington is Northern Kentucky's only homeless shelter for women and girls. It has been providing much-needed services since 1982; but now the agency is going through some tough financial times that have officials there concerned about the future of the facility. WNKU's Steve Hirschberg talked about the situation with Executive Director Linda Young.

Highland Heights, Kentucky – Dean Regas, the Outreach Astronomer at the Cincinnati Observatory, will be guest-hosting the long-time PBS TV show "Stargazer". The program is syndicated on public TV stations in 80 U.S. cities. It's believed to be the world's only weekly series on naked-eye astronomy. WNKU's Steve Hirschberg asked Regas how this hosting opportunity came about.
Highland Heights, Ky. – Chuck Garvey, Al Schnier and Rob Derhak are usually in a band called "Moe." But when they played the Southgate House recently, they were playing under the name "Disgrace." When they stopped by WNKU to visit with Craig Kopp it was clear "Disgrace" is a way for the boys from "Moe" to give their fans a new experience - all acoustic music
"Highland Heights, ky." – Nobel Peace Prize nominee Dr. V. Mohini Giri will be on the campus of NKU November 16th to deliver the keynote address to kickoff International Education Week. Doctor Giri has been a voice and leader in the women's, and human rights movements in India and Southeast Asia for forty years. WNKU's Matt Kelley asked Doctor Giri if we're making any progress.
